The Grave You Dig
By Aaron Bentley

(Description)

I've got one foot out and one foot in this grave.
I guess I chose a bad time to be brave.
This moonlight is the last light I will see,
Before those hoodlums come and bury me.

When I told that gangster I'd pay his protection fee no more,
We got into a tussle and I laid him on the floor.
Now I can hear them coming. They'll be breaking every bone.
Sometimes the grave you dig may be your own.

Yes, I've owned this cemetary many years.
Death was of my friends, not of my fears.
Won a fight but now I know I'm hated.
Soon this graveyard will be desecrated.

When I told that gangster I'd pay his protection fee no more,
We got into a tussle and I laid him on the floor.
Now I can hear them coming. They'll be breaking every bone.
Sometimes the grave you dig may be your own.

Pick your battles. Do what does you good.
You can't fight the power beating up a hood.
Excuse me now. This ain't a public show.
Got a few more inches left to go.

When I told that gangster I'd pay his protection fee no more,
We got into a tussle and I laid him on the floor.
Now I can hear them coming. They'll be breaking every bone.
Sometimes the grave you dig may be your own.
