The Superficial Song
By Aaron Bentley

(Description)

I'm gonna sing a superficial song tonight.
I'll make it simple, make it stupid, make it trite.
'Cause, if I play a sober song, then my perspective might be wrong,
And so I'll sing a superficial song tonight.

I'm gonna sing a superficial song tonight.
What in the dark is sweet grows rancid in the light.
And if I play a sober song, then I just might get it all wrong,
And so I'll sing a superficial song tonight.

(bridge)
la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la

I'm gonna sing a superficial song tonight.
I don't write lyrics well--I'm really not that bright.
And if I play a sober song, it's ten to one I will go wrong,
And so I'll sing a superficial song tonight.
