Fast Forward
By Aaron Bentley

(Description)

I've known a lot of folks.
Some friendly, and some mean.
I've heard a lot of jokes.
My favourite colour's green.
I've seen most every way
That I could turn out to be,
But I can barely say
Just what I mean by "me".

I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I gotta rewind.
Otherwise, comprehension
Might get left behind.
I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I can't see the cause.
And sometimes the best part is when you pause.

I think I'll never change.
Seems like I've always just been me.
The game came with the name.
Perhaps it's how I'm s'posed to be,
But when I settle back,
When I read my diary.
I often think the hack
Who wrote it's a complete stranger to me.

I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I gotta rewind.
Otherwise, comprehension
Might get left behind.
I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I can't see the cause.
And sometimes the best part is when you pause.

I used to think of life
As playing football with no rules.
A load of work and strife.
Like building houses without tools.
But, now I gotta grin.
'Cause I've started building me.
And it's not who I've been
That matters, now, it's who I choose to me.

I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I gotta rewind.
Otherwise, comprehension
Might get left behind.
I'm going so fast forward,
Sometimes I can't see the cause.
And sometimes the best part is when you pause.
